The 2017 Billboard Music Awards could probably be described in a single word (“Drake”), but the night of star-studded musical performances and award distribution had plenty more to offer. Check out the six best moments from the 2017 Billboard Music Awards below.
1. Nicki Minaj completely slaying
One of the most decorated artists in Billboard history (??) was relentlessly fierce in a performance featuring Lil Wayne, Jason DeRulo, and a handful of dancers who just. Wouldn’t. Quit.
2. Noah Cyrus introduces Miley “for the first time in years with pants on”
3. Diddy remembers Biggie Smalls
On what would have been Christopher Wallace’s 45th birthday, his friend and collaborator spoke of Biggie’s music and legacy. He then brought out Biggie’s son C.J. — an up-and-coming hip-hop artist himself — to say a few words, before introducing the trailer for Can’t Stop Won’t Stop: A Bad Boy Story, a documentary about Bad Boy Records.
4. Cher remains a lifelong queen
In accepting her Billboard Icon award, the 71-year-old artist gave a killer performance, a charismatic and humorous speech, and a reminder to everyone watching that true talent is timeless.
5. Our hearts will go on
Speaking of timeless talent, Celine Dion once again sang her most iconic song, this time in honor of the 20th anniversary of Titanic.
5. Vanessa Hudgens’ perfect wardrobe
Drake wasn’t the only one admiring the former High School Musical star. She crushed every costume change and was reliably charming as well.
