When you’ve piled up as many successes as Elon Musk has, you can afford to take a little time to laugh at yourself and the failures that led to all the good stuff.
Such is the case with SpaceX, as Musk has made good on his promise to drop a “blooper reel” of SpaceX failures and, hoo boy, it does not disappoint. Officially titled “How Not to Land an Orbital Rocket Booster,” the two-minute clip is full of explosions and crashes and just utter, spectacular failure.
Making sure we all know that, “YES I CAN LAUGH AT MYSELF,” Musk uses the same tune that Monty Python used for their television theme song (John Philip Sousa’s “Liberty Bell”) as the soundtrack.
Of course, Musk also wants you to remember that, hey, SpaceX has gotten pretty damn good at all this whole landing rockets rockets thing so he closes with clips of some successful landings and the caption, “you are my everything.”
