The Trump administration’s termination of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program elicited strongly worded tweets from Cher, protests and various actions across the country, and a blistering response from former president Barack Obama.

In response to Obama’s moving defense of DACA, actor (and number one Chris) Chris Evans took a moment to remind his followers about the value of a political leader’s words.

“Thank you,” he wrote in a tweet that has now gone viral. “I was starting to forget what a president is supposed to sound like.”

Nearly 800,000 undocumented immigrants are protected under DACA, which offers them the right to education and work in the United States despite their legal status. Congress has six months to create alternative legislation to replace the Obama administration’s DACA.
