Wtf how does that justify Microsoft’s tactic?
If anything it just proves how pointless Microsoft’s efforts were in the end. All that effort spent in promoting Rise of the Tomb Raider as a timed Xbox exclusive to combat Uncharted 4 only for ROTR to end up selling better on PS4 in just its first three months on the market, barely increaseing XO sales when the game got released, and U4 still endig up being a huge hit commercially.
Microsoft could’ve used those funds to create a new IP for themselves that could rival Uncharted, but instead they wasted money on timed exclusivity on an installment in a franchise that has always historically sold best on PlayStation consoles.
How you can somehow twist this to say it somehow benefitted Microsoft by “justifying” their action is beyond me.
