This news should help you STAY POSITIVE all week: Unikitty, the optimistic (and secretly rage-filled) scene-stealer from The Lego Movie is getting her own animated series, and it’s guaranteed to be the most sparkly, joyous, magical show in the history of television!
Or, at the very least, it’ll be adorable.
Unikitty! follows our titular heroine throughout her adventures in her kingdom, where she’s most interested in making sure everyone is happy and ridding the kingdom of negativity; but don’t misunderstand her optimism — she is one kitty not to be crossed.
While she may be full of boundless energy and creativity, Unikitty is a force to be reckoned with if anyone gets in the way of spreading her positive vibes, especially if anyone makes her little brother and best friend, Puppycorn, sad. Also living in the castle are Dr. Fox, the resident scientist, and Unikitty’s trusty bodyguard, Hawkodile.
Through it all, Unikitty and her friends make sure that every day is the happiest and most creative ever.
Alison Brie voiced the character in The Lego Movie, but veteran voiceover artist Tara Strong will take over the role for the series. The voice cast also includes Grey Griffin, Kate Micucci, Roger Craig Smith, Eric Bauza and H. Michael Croner.
Cartoon Network has greenlit the project from Warner Bros. Animation, with Lego Movie directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller among its executive producers. A premiere date for the series has not yet been announced.
